Destruction of a house in Belgorod on May 12, 2024/Collage 24 Channel

On the morning of May 12, after the sirens, the entrance to a multi-story building collapsed in Belgorod, and bodies of the dead continue to be pulled out from under the rubble. It is not yet known what exactly happened, but Russia has accused Ukraine.

The National Security and Defense Council has already stated that this looks like a provocation by the Russians themselves. Since the video from the cameras does not show falling objects, the house could have been blown up from the inside.

The address in Belgorod where the explosion occurred in the house is Shchorsa Street, 55A. This is the outskirts of the city, nearby there are hospitals, hotels, sports complexes, shopping centers and offices of various private companies. There are also a lot of forests and the Seversky Donets River, on which the Belgorod Reservoir is located.

To Kharkov It’s only 84 kilometers from here, and even less to the state border with Ukraine – 30 kilometers. It is not surprising that Russians constantly traveled to Kharkov markets before the full-scale invasion.

Experts Defense Express publications note: “on TV” did not show all the damage. Only those that are beneficial to the authorities and confirm the propaganda version of the “shelling of Belgorod by Ukraine” were caught on TV cameras.

The vast majority of angles from Russian operators from state channels were filmed from the southwestern part of the house, from the yard. Although there is much greater damage on the opposite side – the northeast. (…) If there was an “arrival”, it was in the north-eastern part of the house. This means that with a fairly high degree of probability, if it really was an “arrival,” then it could only have come from Russia,” analysts state.

As they noted, the windows at Shchorsa, 55A, were knocked out from the outside. There is no crater from a ballistic missile, the roof was intact and partially collapsed later. Belgorod was bombarded several times with air bombs and anti-aircraft missiles. But the Russians are unlikely to admit their guilt.

An alternative version is “Ryazan sugar”. This is the practice of the FSB to blow up residential buildings. The Russian authorities have already resorted to such a terrorist attack to justify the start of the second Chechen war. OSINT analysts also recall the events of 1999.
