Four criminals killed a foreigner in Kyiv to seize his cryptocurrency worth almost UAH 7 million.
The National Police reported details of the murder of a foreigner in Kiev on July 29.
Murder of a foreigner in Kiev: what is known
As law enforcement officers established, the criminals had prepared in advance for the murder of a foreigner in Kyiv.

They decided to commit a crime when they found out that the man had bitcoins worth about UAH 7 million.
To seize the foreigner's money, the defendants tracked his address residence.
They attacked him around midnight when he was returning home.
Residents of a house in the Solomensky district, having heard screams and seen a man being beaten and forcibly dragged into a car, passed the information on to law enforcement officers.
All police squads and operatives from the Main and Solomensky police departments immediately left to detain the kidnappers.
Meanwhile, the attackers took the foreigner to an abandoned building in the Kyiv region.
There they forced the foreigner to transfer bitcoins to their crypto wallet, and then strangled him.
After that, they attached different license plates, slightly modified the car and took the man's body to the forest, so that bury.
Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency was cashed out.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers established that the 29-year-old foreigner was kidnapped by four men aged 24 to 29.
All the defendants were detained during a special operation with the forceful support of a special unit of the KOVD.
Money, a car and other material evidence from the perpetrators were seized during the investigative actions.
The murder is being investigated under four articles of the Criminal Code Ukraine:
- p. 6 part 2 of Art. 115 – intentional murder for mercenary motives;
- part 4 of Art. 187 – armed robbery;
- part 3 of Art. 146 – illegal deprivation of liberty committed by an organized group of persons;
- part 1 of Art. 396 – concealment of a crime.
All those detained have already been declared suspects of committing a crime and have been remanded in custody without bail.
The defendants face life imprisonment for their actions.
