The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the arrival of foreign diplomats at the meeting of the Babushkinsky court in the case of Alexei Navalny (founder of FBK, included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent) on libel against a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. RIA Novosti reports.
The department greeted “the desire of the British, French and other embassies to support the veteran of the Second World War.”
The fact that the cars of the diplomats were noticed near the court was previously reported by RIA Novosti, Telegram channels Life Shot and RT.
According to the prosecution, on June 2, 2020, Navalny posted a video on the Telegram channel and on his Twitter page in which 94-year-old veteran Ignat Sergeevich Artemenko expressed his civic position in support of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. In addition to him, the video starred designer Artemy Lebedev, actor Ivan Okhlobystin and Olympic champion Adelina Sotnikova. Navalny called its participants corrupt lackeys, shameless people and traitors.
