In recent weeks, there has been talk that Russia might launch another offensive and once again try to take control significant areas of our state. The Main Directorate of Intelligence answered whether it really was so.
Not so long ago, the Financial Times published an article stating that Russia could step up offensive operations in certain sectors of the front between February 6 and 16. At the same time, Andrei Yusov, a representative of the GUR, stated that it was not correct to express it this way. He stated this on the air of the national telethon, informs Channel 24.
“The Russians have been trying to attack for a year now”
According to Yusov, you should not use the wording “repeated offensive”, because since February 24, 2022, Ukraine has been living in a large-scale war regime and the occupiers have not stopped their offensive.
What we are seeing now is the aggravation in the East, this is a continuation of the same offensive actions that have been going on since February 24th. And it's been a year now that Russia “takes Kyiv in 3 days,” the intelligence speaker noted.
He also stressed that even when it comes to the aggravation of hostilities, this should probably be expected in the East of our state – and namely in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Of course, there may be reports from Russian propaganda that Putin's warriors have stepped up in other directions. However, these are probably stuffing and fakes to attract the attention of the Armed Forces.
Pay attention! Yusov recalled that Valery Gerasimov had recently become commander of the war against our state. According to the representative of the GUR, Putin set a clear goal for him – to capture the Donetsk and Lugansk regions within their administrative borders by the end of March. However, the invaders are unlikely to succeed.
Mobilization continues in Russia
Answering a journalist's question about a potential re-offensive of infidels, Yusov also noted that mobilization continues on the territory of a hostile state. This is happening despite the statements of the Kremlin propaganda about its termination. Actually, there was no official order from Putin on this matter.

There are already more than 300 thousand Russians on the territory of Ukraine. Another part is being prepared, undergoing training, but if we talk about quality, then everything is bad,” the speaker emphasized.
In addition, he focused on the fact that the Ukrainian army destroyed the most trained enemy units in a year of full-scale war. And now the invaders are trying to throw “cannon fodder” into the East of our state in an attempt to achieve at least some success.
This tactic can hardly be called effective, and therefore, by the way, the command of the Ukrainian army relied on the training of soldiers, and not their number. That is, it acted the other way around before the enemy is doing it now.
