What Putin and Modi agreed on at the meeting

The media report that the Russian authorities allegedly agreed to terminate the contract with Indian citizens who found themselves in the war in Ukraine. Now the Indians must be returned to their homeland, and Russia will supposedly facilitate this process.

According to rough estimates, about 20 Indian citizens ended up in the Russian army, although they were going to Moscow to study and work. In addition, the death of 2 Indians was confirmed. One of them is Mohammed Asfan, who was recruited into the Russian armed forces by deception.

At the same time, the Kremlin refused to comment on such agreements. Putin's spokesman said he would not comment on information that is being circulated online.

The message that Indian citizens were deceived into war appeared in early March 2024. Then a group of 7 Indians recorded a video message in which they announced the deception. Thus, a travel agent offered Indian citizens a holiday in Belarus, however, when they arrived in the country, their money was taken and then handed over to Russian security forces. They forced them to sign documents in Russian and sent them to the front.

A few days after this, India announced that they had exposed a “large-scale human trafficking scheme.” India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said around 35 men were trafficked after being offered admission to “dubious private universities” in Russia along with “free and discounted visa extensions.” At the same time, Indian citizens were offered jobs as assistants in Russian military units, and in return they found themselves on the front line and forced to fight against Ukraine.
