Polish carriers continue to blockade border crossing points with Ukraine. But the processes that are now taking place in Poland began long before the voting in the parliamentary elections.

Political scientist Andrei Vigirinsky told Channel 24 , noting that Poland, without carrier rallies, artificially slowed down the movement of trucks across the border. Let us note that the carrier protests began on November 6.

“She does this under various pretexts. In particular, the most effective way to block export and import operations is a long period of inspection. And it doesn’t matter whether there are electronic queues on the Ukrainian side. This was a deliberate policy of the government,” the political scientist noted.

Now the simple Ukrainian cargo, which existed even before the elections and strikes, reinforces the blockade of carriers. According to Vigirinsky, this will remain an element of Poland’s domestic policy .

“Everything suits me”

Considering that the political force “Law and Justice,” which dominated the previous government, lost the parliamentary elections. Until a new government is formed, this party can continue its conservative nationalist position on protecting Polish producers and enterprises.

These are future presidential elections, for which the president leading Poland is preparing. And he is a representative of the political force that lost the internal struggle in the parliamentary elections,” said the political scientist.

Vigirinsky added that the events that are currently developing on the Polish-Ukrainian border suit the Polish political force, which is still dominant. Therefore, there is no reason to assume that these problems will disappear thanks to a meeting between representatives of the Ukrainian and Polish governments.

“This is a process in which we will have to live for a long time,” the political scientist emphasized.

Blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border: the main thing

  • Polish carriers are blocking the border with Ukraine. Thus, three out of four checkpoints are blocked.
  • Some drivers have to wait more than 8 days to cross the border. Carriers demand the return of permits to Ukrainian drivers. And also – to remove Polish cars from the electronic queue. The protesters also want empty Polish trucks to be released from Ukraine out of turn.
  • The Polish government tried to stop the strike. But this failed. It is known that the carriers protesting on the Polish-Ukrainian border previously worked in Belarus and Russia.
  • The Ukrainian and Polish sides have planned a meeting with carriers due to the border blockade. It is scheduled for November 13th.
  • During the blockade in Poland, a Ukrainian driver who was planning to cross the border died in front of a checkpoint. He was 54 years old. There is now no reason to believe that he did not die a natural death. Subsequently, the Polish prosecutor's office will give an opinion.
