Ukraine has opened the Ugrinov-Dolgobychuv checkpoint for the movement of empty trucks leaving Ukraine. This is a general checkpoint that was usually only open for passenger vehicles and buses.
This was announced by the Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov.
It was possible to agree on the launch of a lane for empty trucks weighing 7.5 tons or more in cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and the Lublin Voivodeship with the support of the European Commission (DG MOVE).

So, from December 4, empty trucks, in particular tanks, from Ukraine can begin moving to this checkpoint. While it will work in test mode, there is no need to register in the queue to cross the border. The daily throughput will be more than 100 trucks.
“Now the opening of Ugrinov is the first item on the list of measures that we are implementing to unblock the border, reduce queues and increase the capacity of the Ukrainian-Polish border,” the message says.
Earlier, Poland strengthened control on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Polish Minister of Infrastructure Alvin Gayadhur noted that the country plans to appeal to the European Commission in order to “eliminate unfair competition” that has arisen due to the provision of the so-called transport visa-free regime for Ukrainian carriers.
