What is known about the future aircraft carrier in the Black Sea
The Portuguese classify the ship itself as a Multifunctional Naval Platform, but the developers — as Multi-Purpose Support Ships. In any case, according to the company, this is a ship that can have a water displacement of 7 thousand to 9 thousand tons, and a length of 100 to 130 meters with a width of 20 m.
The aircraft carrier has a traditional flight deck for such ships with an offset “island” and significant below-deck space, as well as a dock chamber. The positioning of this aircraft carrier as a multi-platform, rather than a universal landing ship, is due to the fact that it should no longer be a carrier of helicopters, but of drones.

The latter must be either vertical take-off or launched from a catapult. The cargo deck, with an area of 650 meters, can accommodate about 12 standardized containers with a variety of equipment.
In addition, this ship cannot be a universal landing ship due to the fact that it can only carry an additional 100 people or up to 142 people for temporary accommodation and reduced autonomy, which is up to 45 days. The total crew of the ship is only 48 people.
It is also important that the ship is planned to be built at the Damen Shipyards Galați shipyard in Romania in the city of Galați in the lower Danube, as reported by the Romanian publication Profit.
