“Ukraine is and will always remain at the heart of my government’s agenda, so it is fitting that President Zelenskyy will make a historic address to my office,” Starmer said.

What will Zelensky talk about in the UK government

Zelensky will brief the new British Cabinet on the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine and the need to build up Europe's defense industrial base to stay ahead of the Russian threat.

The two leaders are also expected to agree a defense export support deal to be signed by defense ministers to boost the UK and Ukraine's defense industrial bases and increase production of military equipment and weapons.

The agreement will allow Ukraine to raise £3.5 billion in export finance to support its Armed Forces.

This will also enable Ukrainian and British defense companies to invest in further military capabilities and continue to rapidly innovate on the latest military technology.

Zelensky will also likely make an appeal to stop the shadow fleet of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the leaders are expected to discuss the conclusion of UK-Ukrainian negotiations to provide £181 million in support for Energoatom to supply nuclear fuel from the British company Urenco.
