Dmitry Kotsyubaylo “Da Vinci” died at the front: what is known
- The death of the hero on Tuesday, March 7, was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky. “Da Vinci” died in the battle near Bakhmut.
- Zelensky stressed that Kotsyubaylo is one of the youngest Heroes of Ukraine. The warrior became the first volunteer to receive the title of Hero of Ukraine.
- Kotsyubaylo began to defend Ukraine from Russian occupiers back in 2014. Then he was only 18 years old. The hero dropped out of school and left Maidan for the front.
- Brothers said that “Da Vinci” died with a weapon in his hands. He went into battle first. Military photographer Konstantin Liberov also spoke about the circumstances of the death.
- According to him, two days before the tragedy, he drove a tank into an enemy landing and led his brothers to storm. The next day, as the photographer recalls, “Da Vinci” himself extinguished the fire in the tank, having only one eggplant of water. The warrior died after a series of explosions.
