Nikolenko calls for tougher sanctions/From open sources
Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko urged partner countries to tighten sanctions against Russia. He explained this appeal by the invaders' attempts to introduce rubles into circulation in the temporarily occupied territories.
In Zaporozhye and Kherson region, militants are trying to put Russian rubles into circulation and impose the occupation authorities. Nikolenko urged international partners to react and take the necessary sanctions measures.
He stressed that sanctions pressure should continue until Russia withdraws troops from Ukraine.
Faced with the total resistance of the local population, Russia is trying to introduce the ruble in the temporarily occupied parts of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions and establish an occupation regime. Sanctions pressure needs to be stepped up until Russia withdraws its troops, Nikolenko said.
