Western countries are aware of possible threats to Russia, so they are trying to isolate themselves from them. In particular, the Norwegian Prime Minister does not rule out closing the border with the aggressor state.

Recently, the Norwegian Ministry of Justice spoke about the possible closure of the border with Russia. On Wednesday, November 22, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere made a corresponding statement.

Norway is considering closing its border with Russia

As the head of the Norwegian government noted, closing the border with the aggressor state can happen “if necessary.” This is how he answered questions from journalists regarding whether the corresponding step would be appropriate.

Let us note that Norway’s neighboring states – Finland and Estonia – have already decided to close checkpoints on the border with Russia. As international media write, the decision of the authorities of these countries can serve as an example for Oslo to follow.

According to Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo, the corresponding decision will come into force on the night of November 23-24. However, one border crossing point between Raya and Joseppi will still remain open.

Note that Helsinki has repeatedly accused the Kremlin of transporting refugees to the Finnish-Russian border. Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen even stated that the state has evidence regarding the relevant activities of Moscow.

We demand that Russia stop sending people to the border,” the official stated.

Asylum seekers come from a number of countries, including Yemen, Afghanistan, Kenya, Morocco, Pakistan, Somalia and Syria.
