An anti-war banner was hung out in Moscow on the Day of Russia/Photo by Russian Mass Media aggressor. But “congratulations” are not at all comforting for them.

Russian media reported that even in Russia itself, congratulations are completely unusual. On that day, an anti-war banner was hung in front of the Ministry of Defense, Channel 24 reports.

“Today is not my day”

On the tricolor in front of the Ministry of Defense in In Moscow there is an inscription “Today is not my day”.

In addition, anonymous Moscow artists issued a statement in which they emphasized that the action was timed specifically for the “Day of Russia”.

For some reason, it is also considered the so-called “Independence Day of Russia.” They celebrate today, June 12, when the Declaration of State Sovereignty was adopted in 1990.

What is written in the statement

The statement said that Russia's state television victory reports, wartime-adjusted polling infographics, and machine-gun referendum results inevitably create only a hastily tailored three-color illusion of a new Russian world. Allegedly, every Russian is a guide in it.

“This is a false optics. Now is simply not our day. Our independence day, which we will certainly celebrate quite soon, will become a day of independence from imperial ambitions,” the artists write.

How Russia “celebrates”

  • This year there are many congratulations for the Russians. Mostly they want it to be the last day of Russia, which they celebrate. Russia was interestingly trolled by Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics. He sincerely wished Russia defeat in the war that the aggressor country launched against Ukraine. Rinkevics also called on Russia to give up its imperial ambitions.
  • At the same time, this day is alarming for Ukraine. After all, we know very well that the Russians can cynically “celebrate” it by launching missiles at us. It is even harder for those Ukrainians who are in the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, the mayor of Energodar, Dmitry Orlov, warned that the Russian special services were preparing provocations in the Zaporozhye region for the “day of Russia.” He urged people on Sunday, June 12, not to attend mass events in the city that the Russian occupiers plan to hold.
  • In general, in the occupied territories, Ukrainians were prepared for the “Day of Russia”, and they also planned to shoot propaganda stories. They planned to show the life of the townspeople in them. Nothing new was invented, everything is in the spirit of Russian propaganda. Like, they are all “happy”, because the “Russian world” has finally come to them.
