Vladimir Zelensky explained what he would consider victory/Channel 24 collage
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at the Wall Street Journal CEO Council Summit. During it, he named three important stages for our country in the war against Russia.
Vladimir Zelensky stressed that the primary task for Ukraine is to restore territorial integrity. Now it is important to push the Russian troops out of the territories where they were before February 24.
First fighting, and then diplomacy
The President of Ukraine stressed that he understands how difficult it will be to restore territorial integrity on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula. At the same time, he noted that it would be possible to do this, because the Ukrainians are now demonstrating their strength. And only after that it will be possible to talk about diplomacy.
Because every war ends with diplomacy. So I think we need to endure. Squeeze out (Russian troops – channel 24) thanks to this or that weapon and the support of the sanctions, the support of our partners. Squeeze Russia out of our territory as much as possible,” Zelensky stressed.
He added that the war would still end with negotiations. But he cannot predict exactly when this will happen. Here, Zelensky stressed, he has no guarantees. And there are both guarantees and confidence in people, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in itself and in victory, because Ukraine does not retreat.
The President of Ukraine noted that in some territories our troops are waiting for the appropriate equipment to knock out the enemies. There are also those areas where the fighters are already doing this, moving forward.
The goal of any Ukrainian is to restore our territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders. I’m just saying that I understand that everything is impossible at once,” he stressed.
For starters, Zelensky is convinced, steps should be taken to end the war. After that, diplomacy will decide everything.
Three stages of Ukraine in the war against Russia
- He noted that Ukraine has already completed the first stage. We managed to stop Russia and attempts to move forward.
- As for the second stage, it is happening now. During it, everything possible must be done so that Russia and its troops withdraw from the territory of Ukraine.
- But at the third stage, it will be necessary to restore the territorial integrity of our state. Here compromises will be sought through dialogue, not armament. And Ukraine in this case will show its position, because it is an equal partner in the negotiations.
