- On August 25, due to fires at the ash dumps of the Zaporozhye TPP, located next to the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the fourth communication line of the Zaporozhye NPP with the energy system of Ukraine was switched off twice. And three other communication lines were damaged by Russian invaders earlier.
- The state enterprise Energoatom, which operates the nuclear power plant, said that because of this, on August 25, two more operating power units of the plant were disconnected from the network. That is, the actions of Russia led to the complete disconnection of the Zaporizhzhya NPP from the power grid. This happened for the first time in the history of the plant.
- On the evening of August 25, it was reported that the ZNPP connection to the power lines of the neighboring thermal power plant, which provides backup electricity, had been resumed. However, all 6 units were still disconnected from the network.
- On the evening of August 25, Volodymyr Zelensky explained that the emergency protection of power units had worked at the ZNPP. There, diesel generators immediately worked to give energy to the station itself, to support it after a stop. This happened after the Russian shelling damaged the last working line of power output from the station to the energy system of Ukraine.
- The President of Ukraine explained that if the diesel generators had not turned on, and after the blackout, the automation and personnel would not have worked station, then everyone would be forced to overcome the consequences of a radiation accident already now.
