She told how firefighters from the Kharkiv region picked up a puppy. They named it Bai (Bayraktar for short).

“Such stories strike with kindness. People often take animals from fires and destroyed houses , attach them to themselves or give them to people,” says Chernenko.

The journalist jokes that he is also called Balamut, because the dog is a little harmful – he chews firemen's boots and escorts them loudly to calls.

How the dog appeared in the fire station

Dog almost died twice from shelling and fire. There the rescuers found him.

When extinguishing a fire in a private house in the Kharkiv region, we saw a small dog indoors. It was two months ago. There were no owners, so we took him with us and brought him to the fire station, – says the head of the guard, Vitaly Grichin.

Firefighters say the dog is already accustomed to the sounds of gunfire and naps peacefully when the surroundings are loud. However, one of the last shellings frightened the dog very much.

  • Almaz, a Belgian shepherd dog, also serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine – he also helps to clear the already liberated territories.
