There was also no notification during the night drone raid on Kotluban. People complain that they did not know what to do at this time, so they fled from the village right at night.

Night problems of Kotlubani

Local residents complain that despite the drone raid, no air raid alerts were sounded during the night. Frightened residents of Kotluban independently evacuated to neighboring settlements. One of these women ran away with two children in the middle of the night – she says that she woke up from a powerful sound.

At first I panicked. It, all of it, thundered and thundered… no sirens, no notification to people. I saw later that people started writing in our local group… They wrote, run wherever you can, and don’t wait,” says a local woman.

Then she began to wake up the children – the eldest began to become hysterical, and the youngest did not understand anything. The woman shared that she only later learned that there was a siren in the military unit, but the locals couldn’t hear it. They only heard explosions and watched the fiery cloud.

The woman said that our head of administration himself told people to leave at night. Russian media tried to contact the leader, but he did not answer the phone. The head of the Gorodishchensky district also does not respond.

Also, relatives of military personnel who were on duty at the military unit in Kotluban complain that they cannot reach the soldiers by phone. They cannot understand in any way whether there are victims or not.

What is known about the night attack

• At about one o'clock in the morning on November 16 in Kotluban in the Volgograd region, a facility of the Russian Ministry of Defense broke out. It is known that the cause was unknown drones. At first, local authorities wrote that they managed to repel the attack, but it became known that at least one drone hit the target.
• Probably, the arsenal of the GRAU military unit numbered 57229-51, where the artillery ammunition warehouse is located, exploded. It burned for 4 hours. During this time, about 600 local residents were evacuated.
• If we assume that the attack was carried out by Ukrainian drones, they could have flown a distance of more than 400 – 500 kilometers. The Main Intelligence Directorate did not confirm Ukraine’s involvement in the attack, but did not object. Andrei Yusov emphasized that “the enemy has lost one arsenal today.”
