Finland suspends mail communication with Russia and Belarus/Posti

Against the background of the war in Ukraine, Finland decided to suspend postal communication with Russia and Belarus. The suspension concerns the transportation of letters and parcels.

Communications with Russia and Belarus have been suspended since April 11

The Finnish company Posti announced the corresponding decision. Postal communication with Russia and Belarus has been suspended since April 11.

From April 11, 2022, Posti suspends sending all letters and parcels between Finland and Russia, as well as between Finland and Belarus until further notice, based on exceptional circumstances under the Universal Postal Union agreements,” Posti said in a statement.

The state-owned company noted that the suspension concerns the transport of letters and parcels from Finland to Russia and Belarus, as well as from Russia and Belarus to Finland.

Items that cannot be delivered are returned to senders.
