Ukrainian citizens who are internally displaced persons or victims of Russian aggression can count on financial assistance in August from a number of international organizations.
Cash assistance for housing rental with the support of the UHF
The project is being implemented in Vinnytsia and Dnipro. The project aims to support IDP families after forced displacement for six months.
IDP families (after 24.02.2022) who have not yet received financial assistance for rent from international organizations and who belong to one of the following categories of the population can count on assistance:

- IDPs living in temporary residence places (TRPs) who are able to pay rent after the end of the cash assistance program;
- IDPs living in temporary accommodation points under threat of eviction: in schools and kindergartens, in connection with the return of these institutions to educational activities;
- IDPs who already live in rented housing and are under threat of eviction and have no alternative but to move to temporary accommodation points;
- Newly arrived IDPs who do not wish to live in temporary accommodation points.

Cash assistance from the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation and UNHCR
Program is being implemented for the third year in a row.
Forcibly displaced persons, as well as those who have returned to their permanent place of residence (in particular, from abroad) can apply. The amount of assistance is 3,600 UAH per person and covers three months — that is, the total amount for each family member is 10,800 UAH.
An application for financial assistance can be submitted if the family has not previously received assistance from international organizations, has an income of less than UAH 5,400 per family member, and belongs to the vulnerability categories listed below:
- a family that has only one parent with one or more children under 18 years of age or with elderly persons (55 years and older);
- a family headed by one single/several single elderly persons (55 years and older or an elderly person with one or more children under 18 years of age;
- a family with one or more persons with special needs: disability, chronic diseases.
These People can be either internally displaced persons or those who have returned from abroad.
Those who have not received financial assistance from UNHCR or other organizations can also apply.
If you have received assistance in the amount of UAH 2,220 per person per month from another UN humanitarian organization, you may be denied assistance from UNHCR .
The process involves an interview with a UNHCR partner.
Documents to be submitted at the data collection point:
- identity document;
- tax number;
- certificate of birth of children (if any);
- bank card number for payment of assistance (ePidtrimka cards are not suitable);
- any documents confirming belonging to a vulnerability category (certificates, extracts, etc.);
- personal phone number.
All family members must be present for data collection.
Method of payment of financial assistance to Ukrainians
Cash assistance from the UN (three months in advance) will be transferred to the hryvnia bank account of the head of the household through the financial institution Rapyd or Western Union.
Assistance to IDPs from the Right to Defense within the framework of the Response Consortium
Both individuals and families who have not yet received assistance from the Right to Zakhist fund and do not receive it from international organizations can apply. The following categories of the population can apply for such assistance:
IDPs (from February 24, 2022) living in Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Odessa or Kharkov regions.
Victims of military action (have housing that was damaged/destroyed as a result of military action, or persons who were injured as a result of military action since February 24, 2022, without being a participant in it) in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Odessa or Kharkiv regions.
Applicants for financial assistance must meet one or more criteria:
- a household in which only persons over 60 years of age are present;
- a household with three or more children;
- a household with a child under 2 years;
- household with a pregnant woman;
- household with a person with I or II disability group.

Cash assistance from the BF Right to Protection in partnership with Peace Winds Japan
The program operates in the Zaporizhia region. Applications can be submitted by individuals or families who have not yet received financial assistance from the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation and have not received or registered for financial assistance from international organizations in the last three months. And also have an income of less than 6,318 UAH per family member.
Who is eligible for assistance:
- households permanently residing in territories where military action has been ongoing for the past four months within the Zaporizhia region;
- households forcibly displaced to the Zaporizhia region more than 30 days ago.
Criteria vulnerabilities:
- a household headed by one person (male or female);
- a household in which there is a person with a disability;
- household with a pregnant woman;
- household with foster parents or guardians;
- household with children up to 4 years of age (inclusive);
- households with three or more children;
- person with a chronic orphan disease (list); elderly persons (60+).
Amount of financial assistance and method of payment
The amount of assistance is 3,600 UAH per person per month. The assistance is paid for three months. The total amount of assistance is 10,800 UAH per person.
List of basic documents: passport or international passport; tax identification number of each family member; document with registration of place of residence; valid IBAN of a Ukrainian bank card for receiving payments (copy or photo of a certificate with IBAN account details); any documents confirming belonging to a vulnerability category (certificates, statements, etc.).
Payments for IDPs in August
In August, automatic payments will continue for IDPs and those whose application was supported to continue payments. Assistance for citizens living in Ukraine and having the status of internally displaced persons is: for persons with disabilities and children — 3000 UAH; for other persons — 2000 UAH.
Financial assistance in Poland
From July 1, 2024, parents in Poland can apply for two types of benefits. Assistance Good start— This is a one-time benefit of 300 zlotys for the purchase of school supplies. The application can be submitted from July 1st to the Social Insurance Office (ZUS): through the mZUS application or the ZUS platform of electronic services (PUE), through the Empatia portal and through e-banking. Head Start assistance is not provided for a child who is starting preschool, nor will parents of students receive it.
Zasiłek rodzinny (family assistance) — is provided for a certain period which begins on November 1 and continues until October 31. Applications are accepted from July 1 in electronic form through the Empatia portal, and from August 1 in paper form. The application must be submitted at your place of residence. An important income criterion is 674 zlotys (family income per person), or 764 zlotys if a family member is a child with a disability. For the 2024-2025 payment period, income for 2023 is taken into account.
Currently family assistance is: 95 zlotys per child under 5 years of age; PLN 124 per child aged 5 to 18 years; 135 zlotys per child aged 18 to 24 years.
Cash assistance program “300 zlotys”
Every Ukrainian who entered Poland after February 24, 2022 can receive one-time cash assistance in the amount of PLN 300 per person. They can be used to pay for housing or buy clothes or shoes, food and hygiene products.
An application for this financial assistance can be submitted by those Ukrainians who continue to live in Poland legally and are included in the PESEL register. An application for a child can be submitted by his parents, guardian, etc.
An application for assistance in the amount of 300 zlotys must be submitted to the social services center at your place of residence.
After reviewing the application, the money will be credited to your bank account.
