There were 11 figure skaters on board the passenger plane that collided with a U.S. Army helicopter near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

This is reported by Channel2 NOW, which has published a list of skaters and coaches on board the plane.

According to the publication, there were at least 11 figure skaters and figure skating coaches on board. There were also members of their families.

Some of them were returning from the National Development Camp after the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita, Kansas.

According to preliminary information, the following skaters and coaches were on board: Spencer Lane, Jinna Han, Eddie Zhou, Everly Livingston, Lydia Livingston, Franco Aparicio, Sean Kay, Angela Young, Vadim Naumov, Evgenia Shishkova and Inna Volyanskaya.

Earlier, the media, citing the TASS propaganda news agency, wrote about the presence on board of the 1994 world figure skating champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov. They lived in the US since the late 1990s and trained young skaters.

Before the ship's departure, skater Spencer Laneposted a photo on Instagram from the plane that later collided with a helicopter.

What is known about the plane crash in the USA

A regional jet with 64 people on board collided with a US Army helicopter. The Sikorsky UH-60s collided in mid-air near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

The plane was operating flight 5342 from Wichita, Kansas. According to media reports, rescue services have found at least 19 bodies of people killed in the plane crash.

There were three servicemen on board the helicopter, who, according to preliminary information, were also killed.
