Fico will not go to Kyiv at the invitation of Zelensky, – Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Slovakia Vladislav Kravtsov

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will not travel to Kyiv on Friday, January 17. The head of the Slovak government was invited to the Ukrainian capital by Volodymyr Zelensky.

This was reported by 24 Kanal, citing a comment by Vice Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Andrej Danko to Russian media.

Fico refused to travel to Kyiv

Andrej Danko noted to Russian propagandists that Robert Fico would not travel to Kyiv on Friday at the invitation of Zelensky to discuss gas transit.

At the same time, the representative of the Slovak Parliament did not explain the reasons for Fico's refusal to travel. He also did not mention that a meeting between Zelensky and the Prime Minister of Slovakia is planned in the near future.

By the way, Volodymyr Zelensky on the social network X, commenting on Robert Fico's message to hold talks on the transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory, invited the Prime Minister of Slovakia to come to Kyiv. The President of Ukraine chose the date of January 17 for this.

Before this, Robert Fico recorded a video message to Volodymyr Zelensky, where he invited him to hold talks “as soon as possible” on the territory of Slovakia near the Slovak-Ukrainian border. The Prime Minister of Slovakia signed an open letter and noted that he wants to fully focus on resolving the situation with the termination of gas transit.

In general, after the termination of Russian gas transit through Ukraine to neighboring countries from January 1, 2025, Robert Fico repeatedly rushed to the Ukrainian side with emotional statements, threatening to stop electricity supplies and aid from Slovakia.
