Slovakia will join the Friends of Peace group, created at the initiative of China and Brazil for the “peaceful settlement” of Russia's war against Ukraine.
This statement was made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reported.

Xi pointed out Beijing's principled position on the “Ukrainian crisis”, which consists of promoting a political settlement.
The Chinese leader also highly praised Slovakia's “objective, rational and fair attitude” to Russia's war against Ukraine and invited Fico and other like-minded countries to work with China to promote peace and negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Fico praised China for being “fair, objective and constructive” opinion on the war and said that Slovakia would join the Friends of Peace platform, created at the initiative of China and Brazil, to promote a political settlement of the conflict.

Recall that Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico arrived in China on October 31 for a state visit, which will end on November 5.
Following a meeting with President Xi on Friday, November 1, Slovakia and China announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
Brazil-China peace plan
According to the former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly, the Chinese-Brazilian initiative “Friends of Peace” does not concern Russia at all.
He stated that China aims to form an anti-American coalition in the world, and also criticized the Brazilian-Chinese peace plan in Ukraine.
