The plane crashed into the Yellow Sea, but, fortunately, the pilot managed to escape. As stated by the press service of Kunsan Air Base in South Korea, the incident occurred at 08:43 on December 11. What caused the accident is still unknown. The crashed fighter was an F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned to the 8th Fighter Wing. As reported in South Korea, during a training flight an “emergency situation” arose and the pilot decided to eject. It was discovered by the South Korean navy. Now his condition is assessed as stable. What could have caused the emergency is unknown. However, South Korea emphasized that the incident will be thoroughly investigated. The network clarified that the fighter fell into the Yellow Sea near the Kursan airbase, located 180 kilometers from Seoul.The pilot ejected and the plane fell into the sea.
