Ultra-right revolution: what are the political trends in Europe Natalia Belzetskaya

In a number of European countries, odious politicians have won elections, some of whom openly express their pro-Russian views. Even Donald Trump's rise to power in the United States is evidence of the victory of far-right movements.

Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovenko shared this opinion with Channel 24, adding that only Elon Musk or the Alternative for Germany party could be more right-wing than Trump. Although they are approximately at the same level.

What threatens Europe

In France, Marine Le Pen, who is known for her pro-Russian views, is gaining political ratings. In Hungary and Slovakia, they have long been quite harshly speaking out against Ukraine and assistance to our country. They are also preparing for the elections in Germany. The Alternative for Germany party, which in particular advocates for the lifting of sanctions against Russia, is gaining votes.

There is definitely a certain movement towards the far-right forces, but it is not dominant yet. The far-right revolution in Europe has not yet taken place, – noted Igor Yakovenko.

As soon as the German Christian Democratic Union decided to participate in one of the votes together with the “Alternative for Germany”, a protest immediately began. This only confirms that this party is not supported by the majority of Germans. They have serious “immunity” against far-right populists.

The main countries on which Europe stands are Great Britain, France, Germany. They retain their liberal foundations, so it is definitely too early to talk about the “death of Europe”.
