Estonian President Alar Karis assured that there will be no war in his country, and all talk of a possible conflict is only a preventive measure to contain the aggressor.
This was reported by the Estonian publication ERR.
The President of Estonia commented on the population's fears about the outbreak of war
According to Karis, the increase in defense spending in Estonia does not mean preparation for war, but is a precautionary step. The purpose of such actions is to create conditions in which a potential aggressor will not even think about invading.

The President also drew parallels with neighboring Finland, where, according to him, similar fears have arisen among the population.
– I recently spoke with President Stubb about Finland. They have a similar situation. Some kind of false fear has arisen, as if war is about to begin. But this is not the case, Karis noted.
In response to the question of what the fears of young people who are discussing the possibility of emigrating in the event of a war indicate, the president reassured: there will be no war, so there is no need to go anywhere.
Karis added that “Estonia's will to defend itself is quite high”, but he would not like to “test NATO's Article 5” or check how society will behave in the event of a conflict.
“We must do everything to ensure that no one comes here, and that even the thought of this does not arise,” the president emphasized.
Recall that according to the Director General of the Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service Kaupo Rozin, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Estonia doubled its defense spending to 3.4% of the gross domestic product this year and increased taxes from next year in order to purchase ammunition reserves for defense.
