The detention of pro-Russian blogger Anatoly Shariy was good news for Ukrainians. The Russians have lost their largest media asset and will have even less influence on the Ukrainian information space.
Shariy's extradition
It was previously reported that Shariy would tried in Ukraine for high treason. However, one should not expect his imminent arrival in the Ukrainian court.
According to Aleksey Arestovich, Advisor to the Head of the President's Office, the Spanish court and law enforcement officers are currently dealing with Shariy. You shouldn't expect him to be handed over to Ukraine soon – extradition can take a very long time.

Detention of Shariy: what is known
- On May 4, pro-Russian blogger Anatoly Shariy was detained by Spanish law enforcement officers. This became possible thanks to the cooperation of the SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor General with partners. He is accused of several crimes, the most serious of which is high treason.
- The Spanish court left the blogger free, but he signed a travel ban. Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Fedor Venislavsky assured that the extradition of Shariy is only a matter of time, because Ukraine accuses him of very serious crimes.
