Powerful explosions thundered in Konotop, Sumy region, on the night of September 12. There is no power supply in the city, there are victims as a result of the Russian attack.
Explosions in Konotop on September 12 — consequences
City Mayor Artem Semenikhin reported that several arrivals were recorded as a result of the explosions in Konotop. Konotop was attacked by Shahed attack drones.
The enemy launched a massive air strike on energy facilities and civil infrastructure of the city. According to local police, seven apartment buildings were damaged, another private house, a hospital, an educational institution, cars, garages, a store, a bank building.

After the explosions in Konotop today the city lost power. According to local authorities, the power situation is critical, as the energy infrastructure has suffered significant damage. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore power supply to the hospital and water utility.
– No one will undertake to predict when electricity will appear in residents’ homes at least hourly, – Semenikhin specified.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, preliminary, as a result of the enemy attack, 13 people received injuries of varying severity. One person is in serious condition, among the injured is a minor, the police specified.
At the same time, the prosecutor's office of the Sumy region reports about 14 victims due to a massive drone attack.
– All surgeons in the city are at work. Calls from victims continue to arrive. Currently, two men are hospitalized. One of them is in a very critical condition (coma). The one in the coma was just on his way to save people, — noted the city mayor Artem Semenikhin.
People whose homes were damaged are also being transported to temporary shelters, Semenikhin added.
The city is starting up backup power sources to provide the network with water. There was not enough water to put out the fires, the mayor said.
He asked local residents to stock up on water, as the water supply would be stopped for some time in the morning. Water will be supplied hourly, the exact water supply schedule will be made public in the morning.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the massive shelling of Konotop under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).

The mayor of Konotop has distributed the first video from the city after the explosions — the enemy got into the tram tracks, so the movement of trams will be limited.
