Explosions near Kropyvnytskyi

Terrorist attack in Transcarpathia
On Friday, December 15, in Transcarpathia, in the building of the Keretskovsky village council, a deputy exploded grenades during a session meeting.
As a result of the explosion, 26 deputies and employees of the village council were injured. They were hospitalized in health care facilities. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, six people — in serious condition.
Investigators qualified the event under Part 1 of Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In addition, the SBU is providing information and will investigate the event under Part 1 of Art. 258 (Terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko said that the deputy who exploded grenades during a meeting of the village council in Transcarpathia had prepared for this in advance.
Macrofin from the EU for €50 billion
President of the European Council Charles Michel is confident that despite Hungary blocking the decision to provide Ukraine with €50 billion, it will receive this money.
— We have the tools to ensure that Ukraine can count on our support, there is a strong political will of 26 leaders to accept this “mega package”. And this — the signal we want to send to Ukraine is — he emphasized.
Michel did not specify whether the EU would make a decision to bypass Orban’s veto, but assured that they would fulfill their financial obligations to Ukraine.
— We have different tools to ensure that we deliver on our political promise — he added.
The President of the European Council noted that the package was not rejected, but postponed, so EU leaders agreed on an extraordinary summit at which they would again consider this issue.
EU sanctions against the Russian Federation
Leaders of the European Union countries agreed on the 12th package of sanctions against Russia.
It was also possible to reach agreement on a Directive on the definition of criminal offenses and penalties for violating EU restrictive measures.

For this, the European Council notes, partners and allies are ready to strengthen sanctions and do everything possible to prevent their circumvention.

Over $1 billion from the World Bank
The World Bank announced the allocation of an additional $1.34 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine, which will be used to pay pensions, teacher salaries, support for IDPs and other priority state budget expenses, said Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
