Germany's indecision regarding the transfer of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine is connected with fear of Russia.
This was stated in an interview with Welt by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov.
— This is not distrust of Ukraine, but fear of Russia. Some are afraid of angering Russia, which, in our opinion, is absolutely wrong. I want to remind you that until recently everyone was afraid of Hitler, and how it ended is known. If Germany's political leaders do not understand this, they may continue to be afraid, but it is dangerous. If you are afraid, you will inevitably lose, — Danilov said.
Earlier, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Ukraine had signals from other countries that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could receive long-range Taurus and ATACAMS missiles.
He hopes that it won't take the German government a whole year to decide on the Taurus.
