During the occupation of the Kharkiv region, the Russian military killed 10-year-old Ekaterina Kivshar. On the day of her death, the girl was shot twice, the child died on the way to the hospital.
Wounded child was not noticed immediately
Parents sent a girl from Kharkov, together with her grandfather, to a dacha in the village of Novy Burluk. On the day of the tragedy, Catherine went with her grandfather to pick up her grandmother from work. On the way, the car ended up between two columns of Russian armored vehicles, the Russians opened fire on the family.
Maria Kivshar says that her grandchildren did not notice the injuries right away.
We drove, the car heard something like a shot. It hit the car. We reach up – she climbs forward, sat behind. I tell her, Katya, where are you going? Now we will be at home. She lifts her clothes, and she has a hole there. She says: Grandma, look, – the woman recalls.

The family drove a little more – the tank did not let them go further. Grandfather and grandmother jumped out onto the road to ask the infidels to let them through, because their granddaughter was wounded. They called the doctor. A guy approached them: “he looked and said that the bullet was going right through, they say, they could take him to the hospital, they have three hours to do it.”
The family was given a white shirt on a stick to make the so-called white out of it flag.

Occupants shelled the family again
They drove a little more, near Bazalievka they were again stopped. Then Maria again ran out to the infidels to ask them to let her in, “because the child is dying.” At that moment, the woman heard a blow to herself – it was a bullet.
Shelling wounded, and grandfather. The gas tank in the car was pierced, so her relatives could no longer start it. They asked the Russians to take them to the hospital or to the nearest village in order to find a car. They did not know that the grandson had already been killed.
“200”
The invaders took them with them, but while they were driving one of them said: “200”, after which he dropped off his family. Grandfather took the body of his granddaughter on his shoulder.
He put her on his shoulder, her back was exposed. Blood spattered from the kidney. I touched her head, and she has a hole there. At that moment, I realized what “200” meant, – Maria painfully recalls.
When they reached the first hut, the hostess ran to look for a doctor in the village. The surgeon looked at Katya and said that there was nothing more he could do.
Maria remembers how she closed Katya's eyes, and they opened again. The body of the child was first buried in the garden, then at the local cemetery.

On October 21, Katya's body was exhumed, reported in the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office. After that, the girl will be buried again.
