Explosions in Kharkiv region
On the night of July 2, explosions thundered in the Kharkiv region.
Russian drones attacked the city of Kharkov and two settlements in the Kupyansk region.
The attack left one person dead and one wounded.
According to the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, a preliminary strike was carried out on the village of Borovskoye in the Kupyansk region by five Geran-2 attack drones.
As a result of the hits, warehouses, bales of hay and two minibuses located on the territory of an agricultural enterprise caught fire.
Shelling of Kherson
On the night of July 1-2, Russian artillery shelled a hospital in Kherson, resulting in injuries to patients and medical staff.
This was reported by the Chairman of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, at approximately 11:00 p.m. the occupiers opened artillery fire on one of the hospitals in the regional center.
The shelling left the hospital building heavily damaged and at least eight people injured.
Among the injured were five patients and three nurses.
Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on oil refinery in Russia
Units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, carried out an attack on the oil refinery of JSC Saratovorgsintez in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that the facility became a target as part of measures to reduce the enemy’s offensive potential.
“The capacity of this plant is used by the Russian military to provide fuel and lubricants to units of the Russian army participating in the armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff said in a statement.
The target has been confirmed to be hit. Among the damaged items is technological equipment. A fire has broken out on the premises of the enterprise.
The consequences of the strike are still being clarified.
Execution of Ukrainian soldier by Russians
A video has appeared on social media showing the probable execution of a Ukrainian defender.
According to preliminary information, Russian soldiers tied him to a motorcycle and dragged him along the road.
Information about the latest crime committed by the occupiers was made public by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
“This is demonstrative cruelty and another war crime by the Russian Federation. I have sent official letters to the UN and the ICRC. Russia is acting like a terrorist state. And it must bear fair responsibility for every crime,” Lubinets noted.
The Ombudsman also called on Ukrainian citizens to report any instances of human rights violations, especially possible executions of prisoners of war.
Tragedy in Gulyaipole
Throughout the day on July 1, work continued to clear the rubble in Gulyaipole after the missile attack, which resulted in both military and civilian casualties.
As a result of the Russian strike, the commander of the 110th separate mechanized brigade, Colonel Sergei Zakharevich, as well as other servicemen of the unit, were killed.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address on July 1.
– My condolences to all the relatives and friends. A full investigation into the circumstances of this strike is ongoing. I am waiting for the report. It was a missile strike. All those who were wounded are receiving the necessary assistance. More than 30 people were wounded, – Zelensky said.
The President stressed that Ukraine will certainly respond to the aggressor for this attack.
Kim Jong-un publicly acknowledged the participation of DPRK soldiers in the war against Ukraine
Kim Jong-un paid tribute to the North Korean soldiers who died in Russia's war against Ukraine.
He laid his hands on their coffins, which were returned to the DPRK.
