In Italy, in a tourist complex north of the city of Brindisi, the search for 18-year-old Ukrainian student Maria Bugaeva has been ongoing for more than a day.

As it became known from the reports of the ANSA news agency and Il Messaggero , Ukrainian Maria Bugayova disappeared on Friday, July 4, in the municipality of Carovigno.
The girl, along with other students from the University of Bratislava, came there for an internship at one of the tourist complexes.

On the morning of July 5, the establishment's management informed the carabinieri about the girl's disappearance.
The director of the complex, Cosimo Cappelletti, said that in the room where Maria Bugayova lived, they found a note with several phone numbers, the girl’s passport and a mobile phone.
It is also known that before her disappearance, the Ukrainian woman transferred money to her brother.
CCTV footage showed Maria Bugayova leaving the hotel complex and heading towards the bypass road.
Helicopters have been dispatched to the search, which is being coordinated by the Brindisi provincial authorities.
The girl is also being searched for by dog handlers, firefighters, law enforcement officers and civil defense volunteers.
Meanwhile, photographs of Maria Bugayova with descriptions of the Ukrainian woman’s characteristics are being distributed on social networks.
One of such messages was published by the head of the municipality of Carovigno, Massimo Lanzilotti. The official, in particular, noted that the Ukrainian does not speak Italian.
Authorities believe the most likely version of her disappearance is that the girl voluntarily decided to leave the hotel complex, since investigators have no evidence indicating violent circumstances.
According to Il Messaggero, before this, Maria Bugayova received confirmation that her internship, which ended on July 6, would not be extended.
Investigators are checking whether this circumstance could have influenced her decision to leave the complex.
The girl's parents, who live in Ukraine, were notified of their daughter's disappearance. They are in contact through diplomatic channels.
