Large-scale flooding continues in Poland. Thus, in the city of Paczków, Nysa County, Opole Voivodeship, 35 patients were evacuated from a medical facility by air.

This was reported by the RMF24 publication. Many people cannot get to work due to flooding.

Doctors cannot work due to flooding

35 patients were evacuated by air from a medical facility in Paczków, since the employees were unable to go to work due to the flooding.

As the director of the district hospital in Nysa told journalists, the patients who were evacuated are elderly people who need care. Therefore, the decision was made to evacuate.

He noted that the staffing problem was mainly due to the flood, as staff were unable to get to work.

Important. The Polish government declared a state of emergency and allocated one billion zlotys – about 260 million US dollars – to help the victims. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced his intention to apply for EU aid.

Recall that the flood situation is not improving: residents of the city of Lewin Brzeski in the Opole Voivodeship have been called to evacuate due to flooded streets, and in Wroclaw in Lower Silesia, the embankment is being raised to protect areas from possible flooding by the Bystrica River
