Ukraine and Croatia are looking for ways to strengthen Europe's energy security. The prime ministers of the two countries discussed the possibility of using Ukrainian gas storage facilities, which are the largest on the continent.
This became known from a briefing that took place following a meeting between Denys Shmyhal and Andriy Plenkovic.
Ukraine offered Croatia its gas storage facilities
According to Shmyhal, Ukraine has 31 billion cubic meters of gas storage facilities, which could become a kind of gas safe for Europe.

— 31 billion cubic meters — This could become a strong gas safe for Europe, where Croatia could store its own gas resources, as well as those of its partners, which Croatia receives through LNG terminals on the island of Krk, the Prime Minister noted.
Denys Shmyhal emphasized that such cooperation has great prospects for the two countries.
— We discussed these prospects with the Prime Minister and representatives of the Croatian government, he added.
Recall that in January, Shmyhal identified 10 priorities for this year, including energy. He called it one of the main challenges and noted the need to restore and protect energy facilities.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine no longer transits Russian gas, so a new model of GTS operation needs to be introduced this year. In addition, special attention will be paid to the development of the concept of Ukraine as Europe's gas safe.
The government will continue to develop distributed generation and infrastructure to increase electricity imports from Europe.
