Lifting restrictions on strikes against Russia: European Parliament resolution
The resolution states that “without lifting restrictions, Ukraine will not be able to fully exercise its right to self-defense and will remain vulnerable to attacks on its population and infrastructure”.

In particular, it is noted that the shortage of ammunition and weapons, as well as restrictions on their use, could undermine the efforts made so far.
At the same time, MEPs once again called on EU Member States to fulfill their 2023 promise to supply Ukraine with 1 million rounds of ammunition, as well as to accelerate the supply of weapons, air defense systems and Taurus cruise missiles.
— They also reaffirm their position that all EU countries and NATO allies should collectively and individually commit to annually allocating at least 0.25% of their GDP to military support for Ukraine, — the European Parliament resolution says.
Expansion of EU sanctions against Russia and its allies
In the resolution, the MEPs also call for maintaining and expanding sanctions against Russia, Belarus and third countries and organizations that supply military technology and dual-use goods to the aggressor country.
In particular, they believe that it is necessary to strengthen sanctions against Iran and North Korea due to the transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia, as well as Chinese individuals and entities that help it circumvent the restrictions.
Confiscation of Russian assets
They also believe that responsibility for Russia's war crimes, reparations and other payments by Moscow are important aspects of any decisions.
— To this end, MEPs want the EU and like-minded partners to create a legal regime for the confiscation of Russian state assets frozen by the EU in order to compensate Ukraine for the huge losses it has suffered, — writes the European Parliament.
