German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius believes that with the weakening of US influence in Europe, it is necessary to prepare for new military threats.
The German minister stated this in an interview with Welt, RBC-Ukraine reports.
According to him, the United States in the coming years may concentrate its activities in the Pacific region, so its influence in Europe will weaken.

Pistorius noted that Europe has 5-8 years to restore its military potential.
— This means that we Europeans must strengthen our commitment to ensuring security on our continent. For example, the defense complex needs time to increase its capacity. Now we have about five to eight years in which we have to catch up both in the armed forces, and in industry, and in society, — said Boris Pistorius.
