France, Germany and the UK are considering closer ties between Ukraine and NATO to encourage Kiev to start peace talks with Moscow.
This is written in The Wall Street Journal, referring to anonymous representatives of the governments of the three countries. At the same time, any decision on when and under what conditions these negotiations will begin should be made by Kyiv.
It is noted that last week, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak unveiled a plan for an agreement to provide Ukraine with greater access to modern military equipment, weapons and ammunition in order to protect itself after the end of the war.
Thus, a year after the start full-scale invasion, Paris and Berlin also support this initiative, they see it as an opportunity to increase confidence in Ukraine and give the government an incentive to start negotiations with Russia.
