The European Union will not be able to supply Ukraine with 1 million artillery shells until March.
This was confirmed by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at the start of the EU Defense Ministers' Summit on Tuesday, November 14.
“We must admit that it will not be possible to reach 1 million (set – Ed. ), – Pistorius told reporters.
He also questioned whether the bloc's goal of helping Kyiv “was ever realistic.”

According to Pistorius, some have warned that one must be careful with the target, they say, there is money, but there must also be enough production. He said the warnings were correct and called on defense contractors to increase production.
Bloomberg previously reported that the EU's foreign policy department informed EU diplomats that the bloc was likely to miss its March 2024 target for a commitment to supply 1 million artillery ammunition.
Under plans outlined in March 2023, the EU committed to providing Ukraine with artillery shells within 12 months, first from existing stockpiles and then through joint procurement contracts and increased production capacity.
