The European Union has approved Hungary's access to €10 billion in funding due to the belief that the government is meeting its commitments to restoring the rule of law.
In a statement, the European Commission said the unfrozen funds amounted to about a third of the amount the EU froze in 2022. This came as the EU acknowledged problems with corruption and the rule of law in Hungary.
