EU needs to produce 3 million ammunition per year – Estonian Defense Minister

EU countries produce less than one million ammunition per year, but this process can be accelerated.

This was stated by Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur before a meeting of EU defense ministers in Brussels.

For example, Estonia intends to invest 30% of the country's total defense budget in the next four years in the production of ammunition.

“On Friday we agreed on an accelerated purchase to receive 155mm ammunition worth 280 million euros. And this is a signal for the industry. We have said many times that contracts are needed. We are now in the process of creating a defense industry park in Estonia,” said Pevkur.
