If Poland does not resolve the issue of blocking checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, the European Commission may begin punitive proceedings against Warsaw.
This was reported by RMF FM with reference to an official from the European Commission.
According to him, the Polish authorities are obliged under EU law to ensure the free movement of trucks from Ukraine through the so-called solidarity corridors.

At the same time, some in the European Commission believe that the Polish authorities are not doing everything possible to solve the problem of protests by cargo carriers at the border, and “Brussels is already losing patience.”
However, they officially refuse to comment on measures that may be taken against the Polish authorities, as negotiations with Poland and Ukraine continue.
From unofficial sources, RMF FM learned that the EC is considering the issue of Poland’s violation of the EU regulation on trade liberalization with Ukraine, which was recently extended until June 2024.
Therefore, the European Commission must now examine the legal grounds for launching a punitive procedure.
On November 6, Polish carriers began blocking the movement of trucks at the Krakovets-Korchowa, Yagodin-Dorohusk and Rava Russkaya-Hrebiene checkpoints.
