The European Union could support the start of accession negotiations for Ukraine and Moldova, as well as grant candidate membership status to Georgia, but with certain conditions.
This was reported by journalist and editor of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Rikard Jozwiak.
According to him, the preliminary decision was made by the heads of the European Commissioners' offices, which represent all 27 EU member states, at a meeting dedicated to the expansion on November 6.

“Negotiations on the final details will continue tomorrow, but the main prerequisites are already clear,” the correspondent claims.
According to him, for Ukraine and Moldova – to open negotiations on accession to the EU, probably in March 2024, and for Georgia – to provide candidate status with conditions for moving to the next step.
Two EU officials told Reuters that on November 8, European Council President Charles Michel will recommend opening accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova, subject to the fulfillment of relevant conditions.
This may indicate that formal negotiations with Kiev and Chisinau could begin as early as next year. However, the European Commission's report, which also talks about other applicants for EU membership, still needs to be finalized before its final publication.
