Briefly about the 6th package of sanctions against Russia
- On May 4, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that the EU is presenting the sixth package of sanctions against Russia. First of all, we are talking about disconnecting Sberbank and 2 more banks from the SWIFT system, as well as a ban on the import of Russian oil.
- On May 3, the media wrote that the EU plans to impose an embargo on Russian oil. Hungary and Slovakia will not be forced. The first country is often on the side of Russia, while the second is 95% dependent on Russian oil and has no access to seaports.
- Again, according to preliminary data, the EU plans to abandon crude oil within 6 months , and from oil products – until the end of 2022. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen explained that Putin must pay a price, a high price, for his brutal aggression.
- In addition, sanctions will be imposed against Russian military leaders involved in war crimes, in particular in Bucha.< /li>
- According to the press, Patriarch Kirill, who is the head of the Russian Orthodox Church and who “blessed” the Russian troops for the war, will also be subject to restrictions. The Russian Orthodox Church also settles citizens forcibly displaced from Ukraine in its monasteries and shelters.
