European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the provision of an additional €160 million to support Ukraine's energy security ahead of winter.
She announced this in Brussels at a joint press conference with International Energy Agency Executive Director Fatih Birol.
€160 million from the EU to support Ukraine in winter
— Today, I can announce that we will allocate an additional €160 million for this winter. This includes €60 million for humanitarian aid, such as shelters and heaters, and another €100 million for repairs and renewable energy, she stressed.
And she recalled that the total amount of support for Ukraine's energy security from February 2022 is estimated at at least €2 billion, and this does not include in-kind donations.
