Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that the country's government is considering the possibility of sending its military to Ukraine. However, no specific decision has been made yet.

The Minister of Defense emphasized that the introduction of troops must be coordinated at the NATO level. This was reported by Polskie Radio.

Why Estonia is hesitating to send troops to Ukraine

Pevkur reported that the Estonian government was considering the option of sending its troops to carry out non-combat missions in western Ukraine.

He noted that the country has not yet made a final decision, since Estonia's top priority is to ensure the safety of its instructors.

If we had a large contingent, say, a unit of brigade with equipment, this would be a very big goal for the Russians, – explained the minister.

The head of the Estonian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the decision to deploy troops in Ukraine must be made with the consent of all NATO member countries.

“We need to take into account all the details: measures to protect forces, as well as logistics. Therefore, we are now continuing exercises in Poland and Great Britain. Let's see how this topic develops,” Pevkur noted.

The minister concluded that the allies are doing everything possible to ensure that Ukraine wins the war against Russia.
