On the night of August 22, a new batch of “pops” arrived in Donetsk. A military warehouse of the occupiers burned and detonated there. The base of the so-called “fifteen” group, which had been fighting in the Donbass since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, was hit.
Were known for their crimes
At that time, this group was created as a special forces group. This Channel 24 was told by military expert Oleg Zhdanov.
According to him, the representatives of the “tag” differed from others in their particular cruelty towards our servicemen. They tortured, abused and killed them. That is why this unit is known primarily for its crimes against Ukrainian military and civilians.
The expert noted that the “tag” was well known to everyone on the collision line. These occupiers were especially proud of their “achievements”, as well as the status of a named unit and a special name.
Such units exist, but they have different names and operate in different directions. “Pyatnashka” was the most famous unit of those that were created as the first “volunteer formations of the militias,” Zhdanov stated.
Well, today their arrogance has significantly decreased, because as a result of the fire there are already many dead and wounded invaders. Together with them, equipment turned into ashes and scrap.
Total losses of the enemy in a full-scale war
Representatives of the tag will add to the already considerable list of Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine. As of the morning of August 22, since the beginning of the full-scale war on February 24, Ukrainian defenders have already eliminated about 45,400 invaders. In addition, the enemy lost a huge amount of equipment:
- tanks – 1919 units,
- armored combat vehicles – 4230 units,
- artillery systems – 1032 units ,
- MLRS – 266 units,
- air defense systems – 145 units,
- aircraft – 234 units,
- helicopters – 198 units,
- UAVs of the operational-tactical level – 815 units,
- cruise missiles – 194 units,
- ships/boats – 15 units,
- 3149 vehicles and tank trucks,
- special vehicles 99 units.
