Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that US President Donald Trump is ready to come to Turkey for talks on Ukraine if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin comes there.
He said this while speaking to journalists on board his plane on the way from the NATO summit in The Hague, CNN Türk writes.
Trump to come to Turkey for talks: condition
Erdogan was asked what diplomatic steps Türkiye will take to return to the negotiating table to end the war in Ukraine.

He said that this war must end and Türkiye attaches importance and priority to diplomacy in resolving conflicts.
According to him, Ukraine and Russia have repeatedly demonstrated that they trust the Turkish side. And the talks held in Istanbul opened the door to peace.
“We realize that there are events that narrow the space for diplomacy, but if there is even a small hope for peace, we will implement it. Moreover, in our opinion, there is more than a small hope for peace in the Ukrainian-Russian war,” he said.
Erdogan added that Ankara is currently in dialogue with Moscow and Kiev on holding a third round of talks, and Turkey’s ultimate goal is to achieve a meeting on Ukraine at the level of leaders.
“Trump said that if Russian President Vladimir Putin comes to Istanbul or Ankara by decision, I will also come to Istanbul or Ankara,” he said.
The Turkish leader stressed that Türkiye will establish the necessary contacts, and “God willing, this meeting will take place as soon as possible.”
Let us recall that on June 2, another round of negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and Russia took place in Istanbul with the mediation of Turkey. During the negotiations, the Russian Federation refused to agree to an unconditional ceasefire, proposing a regime of silence for 2-3 days.
