The head of Turkey said he wants to organize a meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This is due to the fact that Russia's war against Ukraine has consequences that affect Turkey and all of humanity.
Recep Erdogan voiced this opinion after the Cabinet meeting.
Erdogan noted that his goal is to bring together Putin and Zelensky in Turkey for a “radical resolution of the crisis.” Erdogan hopes that this will happen “in the near future.”
Recall that back in March, Erdogan called on Zelensky and Putin to come to Turkey. He stated that he was ready to receive the presidents for negotiations to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
Interesting! By the way, Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to attend the G20 summit. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky was also invited to the event.
Erdogan was in Ukraine the other day
On August 18, bilateral meetings of Volodymyr Zelensky with UN Secretary General António Guterres and Recep Tayyip Erdogan were held in Lvov, as well as a trilateral summit that lasted 40 minutes. Erdogan, who had previously met with the head of the Kremlin regime, proposed resuming negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul.
After the meeting, Zelensky stressed that negotiations are possible only if Russian troops leave the occupied Ukrainian territories.
The Office of the President stressed that no talks on a meeting between Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin have been held yet. However, consultations on the resumption of grain exports from the UN are quite intense. Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak spoke about this.
