Erdogan announced new negotiations with Russia and Ukraine/channel 24 collage
Turkey does not abandon attempts to organize, through its mediation, a “grain corridor” in the Black Sea. To this end, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Erdogan will discuss next steps with Zelensky and Putin
On June 12, Erdogan announced talks with Ukrainian and Russian leaders on organizing grain exports from Ukraine. The Milliyet publication clarified Erdogan's statement, in which he said that he would discuss further steps with Zelensky and Putin.
Last evening we had negotiations with certain interested parties. Next week we will hold talks with Putin and Zelensky and discuss the next steps,” Erdogan said.
He stressed that Turkey is ready to assist in opening a “grain corridor” from Ukraine, despite the fact that his country has wheat reserves.
“We do not have a serious problem, we have 5 million tons of wheat in our warehouses. Despite this, we would like to increase its volumes … We will be involved in work, for example, exporting goods, not only for ourselves, but also for third countries,” the Turkish president said.
Russia blocks Ukrainian ports and grain export: what is known
- Russia is purposefully blocking Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to prevent Ukraine from exporting grain. Moscow replaced the Black Sea and concentrated its ships.
- At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin does not believe that there are problems with the export of grain from Ukraine. He cynically suggested exporting grain through Belarus, from whose territory the Russians are bombing Ukrainian cities and villages.
- At the same time, Russia is stealing Ukrainian grain, after which it tries to sell it to other countries. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Russia has stolen 500,000 tons of wheat.
- President Zelensky has reported that Ukraine has traced the routes of stolen grain and has threatened sanctions against countries that buy it.

- The head of state also informed that Ukraine is negotiating with Britain and Turkey to ensure the export of grain. France is ready to take part in the operation to unblock the port of Odessa.
- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow is ready to hold a meeting with Ukraine, Turkey and the UN in Istanbul. But Lavrov cynically said that he would not give anything.
