Medvedev issued a new batch of absurd statements/Collage 24 Channel

Dmitry Medvedev once again tried to intimidate Ukraine and our partners. He stated that permission to strike with TAURUS missiles on Russian territory in return gives the occupiers the right to strike Germany. He also fantasized about the territories that the aggressor country would allegedly seize.

Such statements were created to intimidate the West. Political scientist Oleg Lesnoy spoke about this to24 Channel, noting that this “game” with Ukraine did not work out at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

They want to create information pressure

Medvedev is a person who voices theses that he believes in, but Vladimir Putin is not ready to voice, so they need to be taken seriously. According to the political scientist, the Russians understood this game well: if the West is scared, then it gets scared. By the same logic, they wanted to “take Kyiv in 3 days,” but the “game” of intimidation did not work with Ukraine. Consequently, Medvedev's latest statements put more pressure on the Europeans.

Pressure is being put on ordinary Germans and British people that there could be a third world war because they are helping Ukraine. This thesis is being pushed into the information field, then it will be “heated up” by paid “thought leaders” so that a direct connection arises: aid to Ukraine means a third world war, said Oleg Lesnoy.

Consequently, the only way out seems to be negotiations will begin, although it is clear that Russia does not have the real strength and even courage for such a “war”. And during negotiations, the aggressor country will be able to fool, outplay and get what it needs now – a pause.

“Putin will be able to “sell” this pause inside (Russia – Channel 23) as a victory, because Russians live on TV. If he says that this is a pause because we have captured everything, are putting things in order, and then we will move on, then the people will believe that this is a victory,” Lesnoy noted.

Have the goals of the so-called “our” changed?

Medvedev also began to say that Russia would allegedly seize another 5 Ukrainian territories. But such words of his, according to the political scientist, mean that the war will be long, and Medvedev is preparing Russians for this.

Medvedev’s statements have the following logic: we are ready to fight for a long time, we are ready to outlive governments in other states, and our main goal is to destroy Ukraine. These are very serious statements, but whether they have the capacity to do so is a big question,” the political scientist emphasized.

It is also unknown whether the occupiers will have enough resources if the West effectively helps us. In addition, such messages should be a signal to all people who say that an agreement can be reached with Putin.

Through Medvedev, they said that they want to destroy Ukraine. For us, this is a signal to prepare for a serious war, to work better with our partners so that they also understand that there is a threat and Russia is not going to retreat, regardless of whether it has the strength. – Lesnoy emphasized.

So the enemy must be taken seriously, and whether he succeeds in realizing his goals will depend on us and our partners.

Medvedev’s statements: what is known

  • Dmitry Medvedev presented an absurd message on social networks. He called the pseudo-elections in the temporarily occupied territories supposedly “the restoration of historical justice,” and then praised the invaders and lied about “unity.” Advisor to the head of the Office of the President, Mikhail Podolyak, commenting on these statements, said that the invaders will face legal liability and the opportunity to write prison memoirs in the classic style of “we were misunderstood.”
  • Even earlier, the odious politician was indignant at why Ukraine was counting how many the aggressor state still has different types of weapons. He wrote that Russia not only produces weapons itself, but also exceeds the “current needs of the armed forces.” In all likelihood, Medvedev has not received up-to-date information from the front for a long time.
  • Putin’s apostate also complained about the alleged “rudeness and disgusting narcissism of Western countries,” and in response to sanctions he began to once again intimidate other states. He threatened that at some point terrorists would again carry out a 9/11/2001 style attack, but with a nuclear or biological component. He made these cynical statements on the eve of September 11, the day in 2001 when the world witnessed horrific terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.
